Ich habe einen Zeitungsartikel gefunden. In einer Schule haben die Schülerinnen und Schüler ihre Turnschuhe zum Schreddern zur Verfügung gestellt um die Turnschuhschnippsel als neuen Belag für den Pausenhof zu nutzen.

You could throw them out ... or, you could do what students at Brookside Place School in Cranford did: They collected used sneakers to be recycled into new playgrounds through Nike's Reuse a Shoe program. Through the program, athletic shoes are shredded and given new life underfoot as basketball courts, tennis courts, tracks and, of course, children's playgrounds. Throughout the school, students brought in more than 400 pairs of sneakers, which were then sorted and bagged by Mrs. Sztncsik's second-grade class (pictured above). Second-grade classes taught by Mrs. Chelland and Mrs. Alexander also participated as part of their unit study on how to reduce, reuse and recycle.
